We’d like to begin before you got involved in the blockchain space, could you talk to us about your background in the Army and your apartment renovation services company and anything else you were involved in? Along with how this background has helped you in the crypto space.

My service in the Army gave me discipline and life structure. It was also my first experience of personnel management. When I ran the construction company, I got experience in managing different teams in different locations, while the objectives and the conditions were always changing. I also got unique insights from talking to over 2000 clients.

Working in the construction industry showed me how feedback can be useful for business. One positive review brought us 3-4 orders with no advertisement expenses. That became the tool for growing my business.

Back then I was maintaining a thread on one of the big forums about residential construction. I was doing it for 2,5 years. And one day I saw how a moderator deleted over 100 reviews with just one click. That is when I started to develop the idea of a platform that is protected from changes.

 

How did you become aware of Bitcoin & what was it about the blockchain space that got your interest?

I first found out about Ethereum, not about Bitcoin. I read all about the project and even bought a bit of ETH - back then it was $13. It was my first small experience of crypto investment.

The project fascinated me. I visited three conferences that Vitalik Buterin himself has participated in. I even got a photo with him.

 

So from becoming aware of the Blockchain space, what was the process to then come up with the idea and subsequently launching Revain?

Aside from the conferences mentioned above, I visited many other blockchain-related events. I was at a big conference about the Internet of Things, AI, and blockchain in Barcelona. I also visited events in Germany, China, Malta, Cyprus, and, obviously, in Moscow. While getting to know these emerging companies, I observed how college students built new projects from scratch.

 

Could you give a brief overview of what Revain is and explain what attracted you to trying to ensure customer feedback is genuine and legitimate by using blockchain technology?

Could you talk us through how Revain uses artificial intelligence to ensure only good quality reviews are eligible for rewards.

 

Revain’s AI guarantees the high quality of content on our platform. No one likes to see spam, fake reviews, or unsolicited advertisements. But when there are hundreds or even thousands of new reviews being published on the platform daily, it might be difficult to check them all.

 

So we employ our AI for preliminary moderation. It has been “trained” to judge the basic quality of the text by analyzing a large database of other published reviews. It enables us to quickly and effortlessly filter out all the spam, fakes, and plagiarized texts. Then our moderators review the texts themselves to make sure that everything is in order.

We are constantly updating our algorithms to make sure that only the genuine and detailed reviews are published on the platform and get rewards.

 

Please explain the 3 main user groups of Revain, with your platform being useful for authors, readers and companies. What does Revain do for each of these groups to help them?

 

Authors are a very important part of our audience. They are the people who have experience with specific products and services and who want to share their opinions. On Revain they can write their reviews and be sure that their feedback will not be censored or changed. And they get rewarded for their efforts.

 

Readers are those who want to know more about other people’s experiences with specific products and services. They include consumers, investors, journalists, etc. They get reliable and original content that they can confidently use in their decision-making process.

 

Finally, company representatives use Revain for various purposes: boosting their marketing efforts, improving their SEO, reaching new audiences, getting consumer insights, and much more.

 

Why do you believe that transparency is such an important thing to ensure for reviews?

 

A brand should be clear about its objectives and products and help customers to understand its core mission and goals. If the product or service targets users who are not familiar with tech, the brand should ensure that the product description and user experience reflect the ease of use and convenience of the product.

We wanted to encourage users to write more reviews and reward them for their work. And so we established our reward system.

For writing reviews, commenting, helping other writers, and generally being an active member of the community, writers get RVN tokens and XP. Once they have enough XP, they get a new level. Leveling up unlocks new rewards and features.

Users can also unlock achievements by fulfilling certain conditions: write a certain number of reviews, respond to a certain number of comments, etc.

Experts are users who have demonstrated their reliability and expertise in many fields, as well as their dedication to writing high-quality, detailed reviews. To become one, a user needs to get to Level 10 and wait for the invitation from Revain Team.

 

Could you discuss how Revain can help businesses? Revain seems to offer companies an extremely straightforward way to use blockchain based reviews in their platform. Can you talk about this along with some of the features you offer such as customizability in your widget?

We want to help businesses to connect with their audiences, promote their products and find new directions for growth. We provide a set of free and paid services for the companies that want to boost their marketing and SEO and get unique customer analytics.

For example, companies can launch their own review competitions and set special rewards. They can also get featured in our newsletter that goes out to thousands of people, get additional promotions, etc.

Our main B2B product is Revain Widget. It displays reviews of a company directly on its website. This way visitors do not need to look for reliable reviews elsewhere and do not need to leave the website to share their opinion. It is free, easy to install, and fully customizable. Companies can choose any of the 8 versions of the widget and use their corporate colours in its design.

 

Please explain what the Crypto Academy that Revain offers does and why you decided to introduce this? Do you believe that educating the mainstream about blockchain is the best way to promote adoption of the technology?

 

We don’t simply promote our own media resources, but also share the educational data published by other projects. For example, we often provide links to CoinMarketCap’s project “Alexandria”. We’ve also assembled a whole educational catalog of cryptocurrency training & courses. We also believe that a better understanding of the new technologies will also grow our audience.

 

The Company of the Week is a very intriguing feature of Revain, can you explain what this is and how these companies are chosen?

Companies of the Week get a special spotlight for a time. Users get more rewards for posting feedback on these companies and their products. Brands also get additional promotion on our social media.

 

We usually choose the brands that deserve more attention and also give the status to our latest partners.

 

Regulation regarding cryptocurrencies has varied greatly around the world, what has your experience with Revain been like with regulators and do you think this regulation could slow the adoption of blockchain in general?

 

I hope that regulation will in the end help the adoption of new technologies. But it is important to remember that blockchain and cryptocurrencies are different entities. The wide usage of cryptocurrencies promotes the adoption of blockchain.

 

 

Who is someone that you look up to & what is it about that person that inspires you?

 

That would be Peter Holten Mühlmann - founder and CEO of Trustpilot. And the co-founders of Yelp Jeremy Stoppelman and Russel Simmons. These people led their companies to tremendous success. Stoppelman led Yelp to a $4 billion market cap. 

 

What are 3 major attributes you would contribute to your success thus far? For example, your work ethic perhaps.

 

Firm character, discipline and belief in success.

 

Apart from the blockchain space, are there any other industries that you have a particular interest in, for example, Artificial intelligence?

 

Yes, of course. We are still updating our AI and “training” it to scan texts better and “understand” new subjects. Actually, at first we were thinking about using IBM Watson, but it did not fit our goals. So we had to develop our own custom decision that we are still working on.
